Naoris Protocol Announces ENS Company Registry

September 11, 2024

At Naoris Protocol, our core aim is to negate centralization whilst following HyperStructure principles, which means the Naoris Protocol entity itself cannot be a single point of failure as we transition from web2-based cybersecurity practice to a trusted and decentralized solution.

To maintain this ethos Naoris Protocol has further invested in its decentralized future by purchasing the naorisprotocol.eth domain through the Ethereum Name Service, or ENS.

ENS is a domain name provider for Ethereum that was started at the Ethereum Foundation in 2017. ENS became a separate organization in 2018 with its development now managed by the Singaporean non-profit True Names LTD. ENS is a public good, which is a basic piece of the Internet infrastructure that belongs to the community.

Controlled by a DAO, ENS uses governance tokens to make collective decisions; tokens were airdropped to all participants during a snapshot date in 2021. The ENS community can vote on the ENS constitution, which is a set of rules and guidelines for how ENS should be governed.

Each “.eth.” domain is an NFT that is minted and sold just like your average NFT, which is a unique blockchain-based token that signifies ownership.

What does this mean for Naoris Protocol?

Usually, to send a crypto payment, users need a long hexadecimal public wallet address composed of a string of digits, letters, and special characters. Users also have distinct public addresses for every cryptocurrency, which makes it even more confusing for beginners.

ENS aims to make crypto and DeFi simpler by allowing blockchain and crypto projects to create a universal name for all their public addresses and decentralized websites. ENS aims to become the naming protocol of Web3 by creating portable usernames that are interoperable across all blockchain networks and DeFi apps.

In the future ENS domains could support decentralized, uncensorable websites and dApps with a universal web3 login function.

The naorisprotocol.eth domain will support

  • Building — a future decentralized website on the .eth domain
  • Crypto transaction routing — for future wallet payments we won’t share the hexadecimal number — just go to the domain for payment
  • Subdomains — we can assign different subdomains like naorisprotocol.buys.eth
  • Resources — IPFS/Data/Wallet all pointing to the .eth domain

What benefit will this serve the Naoris Protocol ecosystem?

Naoris Protocol is transitioning to a fully decentralized ecosystem. We know not everyone is 100% decentralized, but as a company, our goal is to be 100% decentralized in every area we can. We are establishing a brand based on ENS as we believe this to be the best long-term strategy for the company.

For our ecosystem it gives one name as the root address, so we can support multiple addresses, making interaction and searching simpler and safer to execute.

Due to the fact that ENS is based on Ethereum smart contracts, it does not experience the same security issues as the DNS system, therefore it cannot be replicated or spammed like Web2 domains. By using the ENS domain we are making the UX easier for users and most importantly minimizing any future security threat.

About Naoris Protocol

Naoris Protocol is a Decentralized CyberSecurity Mesh for the hyper-connected world. Our disruptive design pattern makes networks safer as they grow, not weaker, by turning each connected device into a trusted validator node. A robust Blockchain protocol that every company can use to protect against the escalating levels of cyber threat.

Devices are rewarded for trusted behavior fostering a secure environment. Participants earn $CYBER staking rewards for securing the network.

The more users, businesses, and governance structures that use the Decentralized Cyberecure Mesh, creating networks of networks, the stronger and more secure it becomes.
